Visual Experiences
I have some new artwork to publish on my blog. I am very psyched about my art. It is opening up new horizons for me. I did a pastel of a flower for a friend. This is the first piece of art that I've done that focuses on flowers. I don't think it will be my last. I titled it Summer Flowers."
I did an acrylic painting of a night time ocean scene that I think is kind of cool. It has a full moon reflecting off of the ocean which I also think is cool. Click on this image or any of my images to see larger versions of the art you see on my Fine Art blog. These images can be purchased as quality prints in various sizes and frame styles. The art can also be purchased as greeting cards and for cell phone cases for iPhones and Samsung Galaxy cell phone cases.
The accrylic painting below was given to a friend. The original was at least. Sometimes giving away your artwork is an effective method of marketing believe it orr not. Because giving your artwork away ensures that more people will see it on someones wall.

African American Portraiture
I like doing portraits of interesting faces. I have chosen a few for this part of my blog. I hope you enjoy them Please make comments. There are some faces you may recognize and some that will not be familiar at all.
The image below is a pastel painting I found a photo of a Black woman on web and used it as a reference image to create a new piece of art. I hope you'll like it. As usual the paintings and drawings posted here are for sale.
The image below is a pastel of a Black youth. I liked the expression on this kid's face. Yes, he is a kid who probably is from an urban environment. I named him Master Guy. It just seemed appropriate.

Eartha Kitt is another famous entertainer. She may be relatively unknown to a younger generation but she played Cat Women in some of the Batman series episodes of the 70s I believe.

The younger generation may not recognize the name of Nina Simone, entertainer singer song writer and 60s activist. She is no longer with us but she has left her mark on the cultural face of our nation and the world.

And this is Beau!
The following drawing I created as a tribute to Trayvon Martin. I see in the world that there is a lack of value for the lives of Black people and especially Black males. I call the following pastel drawing "Can You Hear Me Now."
I had a bunch of uncles when I was a kid. Some of them were my favorites. One of them was the oldest uncle at the time. He was uncle Jack. He was my gandmother's oldest brother. On special family occasions I had the tendency of hanging around the older people. Uncle Jack would pull me aside. He would say, "come here boy. I want to give you a piece of money." Sometimes it would be a quarter and at other times he would give me a dollar. If it was a quarter it would be enough to buy a bottle of Pepsi and a Tastykake lemon pie. Anyway the following pastel drawing is my rendition of my uncle Jack.
I love the colors in this next pastel drawing. The different tones of brown and tan feel very warm and welcoming. And the model is gorgeous too. I call this one "The Singer."

Nature and Wildlife Fine Art
I have new additions to my art blog. I am loving the way my art develops as I become more familiar with the different techniques, mediums and tools that I have been using to create my art. I primarily use pastels for painting, graphite pencils and colored pencils. I am now beginning to use water colors and acrylics for painting.
I have new artwork to post today. The new art pieces are pastel paintings. This is the Lion of course. This is a pastel drawing. Cats are fascinating animals and this one is the top predator or I should say one of the top predators on the continent of Africa. Of course all of these art pieces are for sale.
The image below is a pastel of a mallard duck of course. I was at a park called Green Lane in the Germantown section of Philadelphia PA, USA. I took a photo of the duck and used it for reference when sketching and pastel paiting this piece.

I have new art work to display here. I have been having a great time painting with acrylic paints. I will continue creating wild life art. I love animals and sea life has always intrigued me. This first painting is of a clown fish. Took me a few weeks to finish this one.
This one of the starfish is probably my favorite. I like the colors on the two starfish.
Earlier this year I did a drawing for my former pastor. I have not seen him in quite a while to give it to him. But will be mailing it to him shortly. The drawing of Bald Eagle took a few weekss overall to complete. I still have not decided what I'd like to create a collection of art on. I need a topic or a theme to get started on that track.

Nautical Photographs
Nautical photography is pretty much my passion. I have always loved the ocean. I live about 90 miles from the Atlantic Ocean so I get the chance to get to the shore five or six times per year.
One of my favorite seashore spots is Long Beach Island NJ USA. At the northern tip of the island is Barnegat Light. I got there one morning before the sun had a chance to rise. I got a shot of the Barnegat Light that kind of surprised me. I was using a Canon T2i camera which yielded pretty impressive low light results. This pic is also for sale.
Until recently I worked in New Castle DE USA. New Castle has a park on the river called Battery Park. It's on the Delaware River. In the spring and summer they harbor small sailboats in a quiet cove at the river's edge. I've taken some photos there of a few of sailboats. I'll post a few of the shots here below.
The photo below is another picture of the same harbor but on a very sunny day. It is a nice serene and quiet cove.
Farther down the river there is a town called Delaware City. Lots of boats go up and down the river from the Atlantic Ocean and points up river to waterfronts in Wilmington DE and Philadelphia PA. The tug boat below is on it's way up river possibly to Philadelphia.

Photographic Art
On this page I want to show my photographic art. Again my art and photographs are of animals and nautical scenery. Waterfowl are pretty cool, Canadian Geese, Mallard ducks and seagulls. I took the following shot at a part in the Germantown section of Philadelphia PA USA.
The shot below is a closer shot of the same goose. These photographs can be purchased in different sizes and frame types. You can even have them on canvas and they can be made in to greeting cards.
I got a shot of a group of Mallard ducks. They were rushing towards me to beg for food. I didn't have anything to give them though. It's not good to feed them.
The photo below is one of my favorites. I was at a wildlife refuge in Tuckerton NJ USA. The reserve is called Great Bay wildlife Preserve. But you're allowed to fish and to crab here. I was trying to take a picture of a guy that was doing some crabbing in the salt marsh when two seagulls flew right into my frame. It was an accidental shot but it made for a pretty interesting shot. I get a lot of comments on this photo.
